The BURNIN' soprano saxophone mouthpiece is the natural progression in this series of excellent mouthpieces brought to us through the special collaboration between JodyJazz Mouthpieces and BetterSax. Jay Metcalf is the well established voice and face behind his brand BetterSax, well known for his high quality educational and review-based videos.
With the alto and tenor pieces we have the concept of a mouthpiece that offers a soulful vibe with plenty of projection, and yet always underpinned with plenty of depth and bass. The soprano piece is no different. Let's take a look at the technical side: its roll-over baffle design provides power, projection, and brightness when desired. The large chamber complements the baffle, offering lush warmth and sonic depth, resulting in a complex and beautiful tone. The straight side walls contribute to a free-blowing and focused sound with a strong core.
Manufactured in the USA, specifically in Savannah, Georgia, by Jody Jazz, the BURNIN' undergoes expert hand-finishing combined with state-of-the-art CNC machining, ensuring the highest quality and consistency. Crafted from premium hard rubber, it embodies the look, feel, and sound of vintage mouthpieces. The medium facing curve makes it reed-friendly and easy to play, with meticulously designed tip openings (5, 6, 7).
Highlighted by a matte finish exterior and a finely sculpted, hand-painted logo, the BURNIN' mouthpiece is not just a musical tool but also a visually appealing piece.
