BetterSax Burnin' Ligature

BetterSax continue to expand their portfolio of accessories for the sax player.  The Burnin’ ligature, designed in collaboration with the renowned instrument designer, Peter Jessen, will give sax players a balanced tone with a great response and plenty of stability.  Rather than going for a heavy-duty design they have opted for a minimalist, ‘open frame geometry’ to allow the reed and mouthpiece to vibrate together in their fullest capacity.  In addition to this there is a heavy layer of 24 carat gold plating over the brass, offering us a rich and warm tone with extra clarity of response.

One aspect of design that Peter and BetterSax have centred on is the importance of real-world practicality; ligatures are notorious for being fiddly and difficult to adjust.  The Burnin’ ligature addresses this by utilising a non-slip design (helpful when trying to adjust the mouthpiece for tuning adjustments) plus the inclusion of two large, ergonomically designed tightening screws to aid the player with the perfect tension from back to front.

During the development phase of this ligature BetterSax drew on feedback from several professional players across Europe and the USA, ensuring their own findings were in harmony with a larger pool of trained ears.  The Burnin’ ligature will match well with the other BetterSax mouthpieces but equally it will fit all standard sized hard rubber pieces.  Given its warm, balanced tone and exceptional response, this ligature will work for players of all standards and different playing styles across the board, whether classical, jazz or rock.
