The Selmer Super Action, AKA 'SBA', saxophones are highly sought after indeed.
Somewhat of a 'halfway house' between the Balanced Action and the much coveted Mark VI, the SBA looks to improve the key work and playability of the Balanced Action while retaining that signature sound that these early Selmers are renowned for.
This particular specimen is quite unique, featuring none of its original lacquer and now sporting a fetching patina, the engraving in particular really stands out and looks stunning. This is a look that is often imitated but never replicated!
The sound of this sax is everything you could expect. That softer, more spread sound but with a vibrancy that isn't always there. The key work is also in a good state, butter smooth up and down the horn.
Saxes like this don't come through all to often and need to be played to be believed!
