The New 2019 SHAKTI Alto Saxophone borrows many features from the Theo Wanne™ revolutionary ‘no-holds-barred’ MANTRA 2 alto saxophone. However, the SHAKTI has a very affordable price.
Some of the special features, not found on other brands models in this price range, are:
Theo’s three point super-strong bell-to-body brace, that allows free vibration of the bell
Theo’s specially-designed neck bore, with custom nozzle
A special Reticulated interior bore design, allowing more efficient airflow
A signature Triple Strap Hook, allowing multiple playing angles
The SHAKTI is comes in a beautiful dark lacquer, and includes a professional molded hardshell case.

Review
Qualities you’d expect from an entry level professional sax, but at an intermediate price. The Shakti has a full sound with good projection, and would suit many different styles of music. For me the sound is leaning towards the darker side of things compared to Theo's other saxes, although it still has a bit of ping to it. The keywork is comfortable under the fingers, and the intonation is great across the range of the instrument. If you’re looking for your first proper sax, or you’re a professional on a budget, I’d definitely give this one a try! - Oren Gurney (oren@sax.co.uk)
