The P. Mauriat range of horns has always had the feel of vintage saxes and the 300 in this stunning cognac lacquer finish is not an exception. If you want a bari that plays great, and different from the usual gold lacquer / vintage finish / unlacquered finish look no further as this is a real eye catcher!

This horn is incredibly free blowing, it is certainly up there with the Yanagisawa range for effortless response. At low volumes it plays warm, light and rich (very Gerry Mulligan) while when a lot of air is put through it can roar like a lion with the right mouthpiece. (Mauriats in general seem to love having a lot of air put through them- really responding well when played powerfully, and the 300CL is no exception). The key action is comfortable and light, even getting around the lowest notes is very effortless. The sound is a bit more focused compared to the unlacquered version.
